Victoria Ware Pitcher - large

We have two of these Victoria Ware, Ironstone Blue Flow blue pitcher jugs medium and large, 12 and 15cm respectively. 

By 'flowing' cobalt oxide into the firing process an interesting hazy effect was produced that replicated expensive chinese porcelain. The scene here depicts an Old world, city (possibly European) with archways, buildings, statues and entourage. Typical of the romantic category of blue flow.

Blue Flow is a recognised antique category of earthenware which peaked in popularity in 1890s and is still highly collectable today.

Both pitchers are in excellent condition, with expected wear to the rim of the base on both and some glazing marks on the inside spout of the medium sized jug.
