Dora Ratman 1950s print - Mesembryanthemum
Dora Ratman 1950s print - Mesembryanthemum
One of a pair of attractively framed prints.
Native to South Africa - Mesembryanthemum, known as "Magic Carpet" or "Livingstone Daisy" is a summer annual and excellent cut flower. Originally for a feature in Amateur Gardening Magazine in 1959. Ratman, a RA artist did a series for the magazine depicting cottage garden brights.
Love the choice of a thin red mount, which because the similar thickness to the frame and the frame colour similar to the background, it gives an almost striped appearance. Perfect for floral layering.
Measures approx 23cm x 30cm.
