This vase was crafted in Hull by Kingston Pottery during the period from 1970 to 1985. Although production was relatively brief, the factory reached a peak output of 6 to 8 tons of pottery weekly, serving a worldwide market. Kingston Pottery’s history reflects a rapid expansion from one to three potteries by 1984, driven by high demand. However, the 1984 miners' strike forced reliance on imported coal, escalating costs and leading to the factory’s closure the following year. This vase embodies a significant chapter of political and socio-economic history—an important piece for collectors and historians alike.

This two-handled urn stands as one of their signature designs, featuring a matte cream glaze complemented by transferware and delicate embossing of exotic fruit blossoms, resulting in a refined and elegant finish.

The transferware repeats twice around the vessel, there is some fading of the pattern on one side, some light crazing in places.  Makers mark on underside, 31cm tall.
