Staffordshire Figure - The Queen

"The Queen " is a lovely example of British Folk Art from the 19th & 20th century, a popular and affordable decorative item of its day. They depicted characters famous and fictional and told stories through ceramics. Many many examples exist but the hand finish will make for interesting character differences.  This Queen is a lovely example - riding side saddle with a feathered plume and rosy cheeks.  The lettering is faded, there is some crazing but the robustness of the design means it remains intact. It would  looks fabulous amongst a vase of flowers behind any mirror.
